In the pursuit of equity and justice within the theatre industry, I stand in solidarity with BIPOC individuals and support their rightful representation and recognition. The experiences and perspectives of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color or the Global Majority artists have long been marginalized and underrepresented on stage. It is crucial to acknowledge and address the systemic barriers that have perpetuated inequality, exclusion, and discrimination.

The BIPOC Representation in the Bay Area Live Document (BRLD) and We See You, White American Theatre (WSYWAT) initiatives have shed light on these issues and sparked essential conversations. BRLD highlights the importance of amplifying BIPOC voices and stories in the theatrical landscape right here in the bay area.

WSYWAT's statement underscores the ongoing struggle for racial justice in the theatre industry. It calls for accountability, transparency, and tangible actions to dismantle systemic racism. The demand for equitable opportunities, fair wages, and authentic representation resonates deeply within the hearts of artists and advocates committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse industry.

With my work as a BIPOC artist and advocate, I am committed to standing in solidarity with BIPOC individuals and contributing to the ongoing efforts for equity in the theatre industry. Together, we can create an inclusive, and transformative space where every voice has an equal opportunity to shine.
